In my art room there's a long wall above the sink and counter top- What I want to do is draw heads of people all along this space. What you see here are my first two.
Hmmmmm What I find intriguing in a face is not always pleasant, but it could be interesting- LOL ! I guess my answer would be I look to see what lies beneath. Kindness, jealousy, generosity,.....these would be a few expressions I would look for. So far I'm not very happy /w the faces I'm drawing. They seem rather emotionless-and-I'm looking to draw a feeling.
It's so cool, and just like us, to both have yearned for a twin sister. Are you sure we weren't separated @ birth ???? :) Robin, you know how I feel- You're like a sister to me.
Yes- The photo is of my brother. I think I was around 39 and he's 4 years younger. We're holding a watercolor he made for me of Henry, another one of my beloved English Cockers. My brother was a very talented artist. He made beautiful watercolor paintings. Even after all the years since he died, not a day goes by when I don't think of him. My feeling is there are certain life events we will carry with us always.
The dolls are actually not china. They're made of a solid sculpting material that, unlike china, will not break if you drop it. I'm pleased you're enjoying them, you sweetie you !
This is a long reply - I need to ' talk ' to you in our home away from home -KWIM ?
I think these pictures you have done are great,I love the color in the one on the left.I think the emotion is in the eyes of the beholder.I can't wait to see more.
The one on the left has a very wise distant look. She seems removed from her immediate situation, the things that may be going on around her. But she seems very much present in whatever situation she is contemplating in her mind.
Where to begin ? I'm an artist, although it's taken me a long time to believe it. Reading and making art are the two, main constants in my life. First I started /w fashion drawings in black spiral notebooks, then moved on to sewing clothes for my two daughters and myself. Along with sewing clothes I started to make Quilts. Today I'm into making art journals. My hope is to move out of the journals and into collage. I've just begun that process.
I think the beautiful face on the left looks like You! *smile*
ReplyDeleteThey both are exquisite.
What do You find intriguing or pleasant in a face?
